Comprehensive Planning

A comprehensive plan outlines a framework for development of an area recognizing the physical, economic, social, cultural, environmental, aesthetic, and related factors of a community. A comprehensive plan is typically the result of lengthy and intensive analysis, includes a long-range scope (usually 20 years) and provides the overall guiding principles for growth and development of a community.

The Northeast Georgia Regional Comprehensive Plan serves as the comprehensive plan for the region. In addition, each local government in the region prepares a local comprehensive plan for their respective city or county.

Copies of the regional comprehensive plan and all city and county plans are available on this website under Plans and Publications.
